10. Merchant Grain Beetle – (Oryzaephilus Merator)

Adults fly and are attracted to light.  Commonly found in grain products also infesting nuts, coconut and candy bars with peanuts or puffed rice. 

Eliminate food source.

9. Carpet Beetle – Anthrenus Scrophulari)

Favored foods are carpets, clothing and textiles.  Also, animal – origin materials include, woolens, hair, bristles, horn feathers, silk and furs.  Find primary source of infestation and eliminate it/them.

8. Cigarette Beetle – (Lasioderma Serriccorne)

Attack a host of items, paprika, dry dog food, beans, biscuits, chickpeas, tobacco, cocoa beans, coffee beans, dried banana, dates, dried cabbage, carrots and fruit, flowers.  Adults fly late afternoon and attracted to light.  Eliminate food above.

7. House Fly – (Musca domestica)

Carriers of 100 different pathogenic (disease) organisms.  Remove larval developmental sites.  Timely and cleaning of garbage receptacles liners in trashcans and with tight lids.

6. Mosquitoes – (Diptera Culicidae)

Can fly miles for a feeding.  Breed in permanent ponds, marshes, temporary flood or drain water and drainage ditches.  Screening eliminates breeding location monomolecular films over water and U.L.V. lights.

5. Norway/brown/house/sewer rat – (Rattus Norvegicus)

Primarily nocturnal and cautious.  Burrows in soil preferably one bolthole and one entrance hole.  Prefers meat, fish and cereal.  Key to control – sanitation, harborage elimination and rat-proofing.

4. House Mouse – (Mus Musculus)

Mice are very social (tea parties and all) and inquisitive.  Entrance holes, all plumbing (hot and cold water feeds to waste lines.  All holes around heater pipes, cable lines and A.C units.  Seal all holes, Snaps and glue traps help.

3. American Cockroach – (Periplaneta  America)

Enter through cracks and crevices, water and drain lines and holes in walls around heater pipes and air-conditioning units.  Seal all holes.

2. Bedbugs – (Cimex lectularius)

Efficient hitchhikers easily transported.  They harbor not only in bed but all cracks and crevices around the bed.  Get a pest control company to eliminate them.

1. German Cockroach -  (Blattella Germanica)

Prefer 70 degree and humid places (dishwasher, under bath and kitchen sinks).

Also any crack or crevice located near a source of food.  Introduced to the home via grocery bags, cardboard  boxes, drink cartons.  Control, check above, and bait pucks and gels for long term.  Sprays and boric acid works but is messy.
